Miscellany

Bing Cherries + Homemade Whipped Cream= Heaven

I can't remember what these flowers are called (dangit!) but my mom grows them, and they are beautiful.

My mom is the best cook ever. Everyone knows it too, and they get really excited when she invites them over to eat. I never knew how good I had it. Justin misses her too, but he claims that being away from home helps him maintain his weight. That makes my mom angry, because she says it's not her fault, he just needs to watch his portion control. But how can you when the food is SO. DARN. GOOD.

This is Poppy and Grandma Maureen. I believe my family gave Poppy that shirt some time ago, as he loves all things that have to do with the American flag. And it was the 4th of July, so very a propos.

This is Grandma and Papa. I'm sure they are just as patriotic, but I've never seen them wear any flag parafanalia.

On the 4th, our town hosts the Rohersville Band at the Gazebo, as it has for the past 50, 100, or 500 years. I'm not sure which, but it's been a very long time.

Before the band started, we had a special guest, and I'm pretty sure Mr. Addy doesn't quite grasp the concept behind the megaphone. The sound comes OUT of the big end.

My cousin Janine is beautiful.
And so are her kids:

Spencer.

And Sophie. Aka, Soph-a-loaf. I think she might out grow that nickname sometime soon.

My other cousin Anna is beautiful too.

Rosie likes watermelon. If she had thumbs, it would all be so much easier. Thank heavens for Jake.

My Aunt Melinda and my mom are pratically twins, except Aunt Melinda has dark hair. They sound similar, they look similar, and they both are extremely kind and talented.

I really liked this little verse, which was attached to the back of my fan. I might cross stitch it I like it so much.

And the fan.

I played on that cannon my whole child hood. And when I went to school, that's where my bus stop was, so I have many happy memories with that cannon.

Both of my grandfathers served in the military. I'm so proud of both of them.
Here they are standing when their song was played.

And Poppy.

Hydrangeas are so beautiful. I love all the colors they come in.

And Spencer was too cute to not have another picture of him.

Bumble Bumble!

My Dad has a 3 car garage that he has turned into a man zone/ workshop. Women beware. Spiders, nails, and who-knows-what-else may be lurking in the piles and piles of saw dust on the floor.
Watch for my next post, which will feature many more mysteries of the workshop...

My family goes to this little dump every year we go to the beach to get Dolphin boats and Shakes. The best in the whole world. Bar none. And that picture is pretty much what it actually looks like. Minus the fish.

My mom grew some crook neck squash in her garden, for my Grandma. It's her absolute favorite, and I guess it's a bit hard to find in the stores... Isn't it pretty?

I bought this quilt in Lancaster, PA.

I also went to Intercouse, PA. Forgive the immaturity, but you have to admit it's hilarious.

I tried all day to get a picture of the huge clothes lines the Amish have. This was the best one, eventhough you can only see it in the background. At least you get a feel for the rest of the farm.

Justin brought me roses when I came home. He spoils me.

My kitties like to snuggle. Justin hates it, but I think it's adorable.
