In case you couldn't tell

I'm home, sick, from school/work today. I've been on the couch with my quilt and kitties all day, which gives me a chance to do a little more blogging than usual... Hope it's not obnoxious.

I realized that I've been posting a lot about random stuff lately, which is probably not what people care about that much. So if you're a relative who just wants to know what we're doing and have a few pictures to gander at, this is the post for you. For now anyway.

I think I might start another blog soon that can be a place for all my random stuff, and keep this one strictly us-related. Does that sound like a good idea? Or do you like it mixed up a bit? Let me know, and that's what I'll do.

The kitties are best at keeping me company. I used to be under this big mess of snuggles, but got up to take a picture because it was so cute. They were like this for about 2 hours... Calvin came back for more when I sat back down. What a good boy...

These always make me feel better... They are yummy, and cheaper than frozen blueberries. I took a picture of a piece of it in my hand, but it looked kind of gross, so here's the bag I emptied...

We recently acquired this adorable bookshelf from Pier 1, thanks to an unnamed generous donation. Justin picked it out himself, and I am really proud of him. He has great taste, especially when it comes to wood products. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and stability. I put all my cookbooks on it so it is easily accessible from the kitchen without taking up counter space. It also makes the transition from living room to kitchen a little less abrupt by covering up the back of the couch. I want to crochet a doily for the top, and also one for the top of my dresser.
Those will probably take me about 15 years to complete. :)

Notice the v-shaped shelf, held up by criss-cross side bars. It's so cute, and perfect for holding bigger books. It also makes everything easier to see and grab quickly. Awesome. Our little house is coming together, finally!

Good News!

Two really great things happened this weekend, and I can't decide which is better...

1) We moved! We finally closed on the townhouse that I have pictures of in a previous post. It's so exciting to finally have some more space, and it's definately a step up from our previous place. We also bought a washer and dryer, which is definately the best invention ever. They have pretty much been in use since the second we hooked them up. Our clothes are so clean! It's amazing. We had to buy afridge as well. It has crushed ice. I think I just peed myself with excitement.

2) I passed statistics! It was really close, but I passed, and now I never have to take math again! You can see why it was a difficult choice between the two exciting things. For the record- our kids are definately not going to be lucky in the right-brained department. Justin and I are both hideously terrible at math and all related fields. I think I'll encourage them to go into photography or something...

A Few More...

Here's a few more pictures- my mom needed to see a little more of the house... Sorry if it's a total bore to the rest of you!!!

These are our appliances. I'm pretty excited about a flat top stove- I hear they're nice and easy to clean.

This is the little storage area under the stairs... It's kind of silly the things that I get excited about, but I really am looking forward to having so many nooks and crannies and closets to put stuff in. Not that we have that much stuff, but at least the things we have will always have a place now!

This is the basement. It's divided into two areas, with the water heater and furnace in back. We'd really like to finish it soon and make this a den area so we dont have to have the tv upstairs, etc.

This is our house number/garage door. We actually have a door opener! Yay...

(Sneak Preview!)

Just in case anyone didn't know, we're buying a townhouse! We are planning to move in on the 22nd of this month. It's brand new, but is already built and ready for us to go! We're just waiting for my summer semester of school to be over so I have time to pack and unpack everything just as I like...
It's in Spanish Fork, UT, close to the border of Mapleton, off Highway 6 (if anyone is familiar with the area). The community is called Maple Mountain, and seems to be a very nice, young neighborhood. We are moving into a "phase A" home, so there is still a lot of building to go on around us, but we are hoping that will help to improve our equity faster. It has 3 levels, including an unfinished basement. There are 3 bedrooms, and 2.5 baths- so if anyone wants to come and visit... hahaha.
We are super excited, and can't wait to have a little more space, and have it be our own! We're also looking forward to a bit less busy area, and more peace and quiet.

This is the kitchen/living room/stairway. The downstairs is really nice and open, which makes it feel a bit bigger than it is.

This is the doorway to our bedroom. The pictures I took from inside make it look really small. It's about 3 times bigger than our room right now (which isn't saying much...) But I'm really excited that we'll actually have a BEDROOM DOOR! and not only 1, but 2!!! AHH! What will I do with myself?

This is the view from the top of the steps. Straight ahead is the guest bathroom. To the left is the linen closet. kitty corner is a bedroom, and there is another one hiding behind the linen closet. The laundry room (is upstairs!!) is kitty corner to the right. our bedroom is directly to the right, out of the picture.

Justin had 2 requirements: Central Air and a Garage. Luckily, he got both. We are so excited to have a garage and a small driveway, because we don't have to worry about whos parking space is whos, and we can keep the elements off of our cars.

This is our front door- it's not much, but we're excited that we have one. hahaha.

I'm not sure what our new address will be yet, but when we know, we'll tell you all!
